Harris wrote this song about her grief over the death of friend and mentor, Gram Parsons.
Colorado Christmas – Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
The lyric says it all from the one-time Aspen residents: “The closest thing to heaven….is a quiet Christmas morning in the Colorado snow.”
Get Out of Denver – Bob Seger
This driving rock song is said to have been written when Seger was opening for Bachman Turner Overdrive.
Good Life – One Republic
One Republic formed in Colorado Springs in 2002. This tune makes mention of the band’s home state.
Ho Hey – The Lumineers
Everyone in Colorado has their favorite Lumineers tune. The Denver-based band is now on a world tour.
Rocky Mountain High – John Denver
The ‘70’s classic is one of two State of Colorado official songs, inspired by Denver’s move to Aspen. The other state song is “Where the Columbines Grow.”
San Luis – Gregory Alan Isakov
Isakov lives on a farm in Boulder County and is a master of music and poetry.
