Representation & Resilience.

RTDNA21 is a brand-new news leadership retreat unlike any conference you’ve been to before. It’s all about community, connection, service and leadership, and it’s definitely something you don’t want to miss. In 2021, we’re celebrating The Year of the Team with two major pillars: Representation & Resilience. It’s the perfect chance for current and aspiring newsroom leaders at all levels to reconnect with likeminded news leaders, restore your wellbeing, rejuvenate yourself and your team, renew your passion and refresh your skills. We can’t wait to see you there!

We’ve got:

Collaborative, practical, hands-on training, not panel after panel.

The days of being talked at are done. At RTDNA21, it’s a fresh and focused type of training, one that thrives on the conversations, the sharing of experiences, the get-your-hands-in-there-and-do-the-work type of training. We’re making learning personal and practical, and we couldn’t be more excited to share our lineup of incredible training topics with you.

Inspiration, not lectures.

If you’re feeling a little caught up in the grind, we’ve got the perfect mix for you. Be inspired with keynotes that focus on you as a leader — and as a human. Let’s talk about keeping promises, about building and supporting your team, about doing good, not just looking good. Take a breath and reconnect (in person!) with peers at a Denver jazz hot spot, have some fun and remember we’re all better with a little grace and space.

Connection, not anonymous masses.

We’re bringing together leaders at RTDNA21. And not just any leaders — the leaders who want to invest in themselves and their team, who come with an open mind and a hunger for learning. This year, we’ve tossed out the massive conference center and the endless rows of chairs in favor of a more intimate group ready to dive in headfirst. We guarantee you’ll leave Denver with new ideas, new peers and new friends. After all, we’re better together.

Giving back to the local community, not conference room isolation.

If the last year has taught us anything, it’s that community is everything, and we’ve set out with the goal of leaving our host conference city a little better than when we found it. At RTDNA21, we’re partnering with local vendors and artists to bring Denver to you. From music to art to community service projects to puppies (yes, we said puppies), we want to leave a positive footprint on the city by sharing some of its most special elements with you and give back what we can in return.

Health & Safety

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room: COVID-19 and the Delta variant. We know it’s top of mind for so many of you covering the impact of the virus in your communities and for good reason. The recent surge in cases has our RTDNA21 team constantly reviewing health and safety guidelines to make sure attendees, trainers, sponsors, partners and staff are all as safe as possible in Denver next month.

Read about what we’re doing to make RTDNA21 as safe as possible.
